Press Release
August 18, 2009 RAYMOND JAMES NAMED ONE OF ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James Financial (NYSE-RJF) was recognized among the “Best Places to Work in Florida” in the large company category by Florida Trend magazine in a recent survey. The firm ranked eighth out of 25 large companies statewide, scoring particularly well in its employees’ assessment of planning and leadership abilities, frequency and content of communications, workplace safety, and overall associate engagement. “In these very challenging times for our industry, it is particularly rewarding to know our associates feel positive about working here and rate us highly on these important measures of employment satisfaction,” said Angela Biever, the firm’s chief administrative officer. The list of companies was compiled following a survey conducted for the first time by Florida Trend in partnership with Best Companies Group. The results were based on questions focusing on eight themes: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits; and overall engagement. The first part of the survey assessed company policies, practices and demographics. The second was administered to sample groups of employees who responded anonymously to 72 statements on a five-point agreement scale. The survey was open to any company doing business in Florida with at least 15 employees, including firms based outside the state. Companies were divided into three groups — large companies of 250 or more employees; midsized with 50 to 249, and small firms of 50 or less employees. For the complete list, see FloridaTrend.com.
